we need help publicising the AGM and the society so if you are willing
to help for an hour. please email us back.

2.WEEKLY/FORTNIGHTLY MEETINGS
traditionally we have had weekly or fortnightly meetings. these
usually consist of a discussion or debate on current events or issues
of interest to our members followed by a social in the old bar to
discuss these issues in a more informal and relaxed atmosphere.
everyone is always welcome to attend. the meetings are always
informative and definitely fun and the best way to learn about green
party politics. the dates for these will be announced at the EGM

3. MINISTERIAL VISITS

It is planned that John Gormley and Eamon Ryan will visit UCC during
this term while visiting local election candidates.
John is booked for February the 20th. we are considering inviting him
for a lunchtime open forum Q&A and photo opp for societies and
students of UCC to ask him questions or direct campaigns e.g. student
housing, envirosoc extending a campaign to a national level or the
UCCLGBT blood ban / equal marriage campaign for the public and a later
Q&A. I'm sure he'd like to hear from all of you. it is also planned
that he will meet and greet with UCC Green party members and Green
party members in a closed invitation only event that night.

Eamon will probably visit in April but there is talk of a large Green
energy festival to be held during the month off. (but it is only talk
so far)

4. GREEN PARTY NATIONAL CONVENTION

6-8 March 2009
Whites Hotel, Abbey Street, Wexford

we usually have a good representation at these events and can prove to
be the best young greens event of the year as it is a national
political party in action. usually they have extremely engaging
keynote speakers, discussion groups, workshops, leader's address and
motions with great social at nightime.

this year the UCC greens are entitled to one motion, as are all young
green groups and Green Party Dail constituency groups this will be
discussed and debated on at the meeting following the AGM.

to be eligible to apply for partial funding from the societies guild
you must have turned up to at least two meetings this year and also
apply with definite interest two weeks in advance. but this will all
be sorted out in due time.

for local candidates
